The Senior Primary Academic Programme at Penzance is a fully comprehensive programme supported by well-trained, enthusiastic staff.

Learners are encouraged to participate in various learning scenarios which extend their skills in many different ways: socially, emotionally, intellectually and physically.

A wide range of subjects are offered at Penzance: Mathematics, Languages, History, Geography, Science, Technology, Art, and EMS. Included in our academic week, the children also receive Media Science, Physical Education, Music and Computer lessons.

Every grade goes on one tour a term. One of these tours is a sleep-over tour, where skills of team work and leadership are encouraged. Children are given the opportunity to face their fears, be compassionate, helpful, disciplined and co-operative in different environments.

Every learner at Penzance is encouraged to achieve a Merit Pass, i.e. an overall aggregate pass of 80% or more. Merit assemblies are held at the end of each term after the academic results have been finalised culminating in the Academic Prize Giving ceremony. Merits are awarded to pupils from Grade 4 - 7.
